Raina Oberlin is a New York-based producer, assistant director, writer and script editor whose work spans narrative shorts and features, as well as documentary films.
In 2009, she served as the producer and assistant director for the musical short film Cheap Shots which won the Audience Award for the 2009 Brooklyn Film Race. Additional noteworthy short films she has produced include: Case Closed starring Geneva Carr, The Position starring Monica Knight and Monica Steuer, and The Empty Playground starring Marty Lodge. Raina has also been a dolly grip on multiple shorts and as a set lighting technician on several feature films providing her with a wide range of on-set skills and knowledge. Recently, she worked as the assistant to director Charlie Minn for the feature-length documentary A Nightmare in Las Cruces, which has received multiple show runs in theatres throughout New Mexico and Texas before even receiving a distribution deal.
Raina is currently producing a dramatic feature film as well as a Sci-Fi adventure Web series, both which are slated to begin shooting in mid-2010. She is also writing her first novel and maintains producorial affiliations with Arcadia Creative and Second Act Films.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from Fordham University.
