Queens Picture, in association with Factor 8 Productions, is proud to present, The Secret Friend, a 35mm short film. The screenplay, adapted from the short story by the Brazilian writer João Silvério Trevisan, was written by our award winning Director, Flavio Alves, whose last film, Even In My Dreams, was most recently awarded the Golden Ace Award from the Las Vegas Film Festival.

The film's star, Viola Harris, whose films include: Choke (2008); Sydney Pollack's The Slender Thread (1965), and Woody Allen's Deconstructing Harry (1997), plays the role of "Anna Marshall," a reclusive, elderly widow living in quiet desperation until she begins receiving daily calls from a silent stranger.

Rounding out our star-studded cast in the role of "Julie" is Siobhan Fallon, whose feature film appearances include: New in Town (2009); The Negotiator (1998); Men in Black (1997); Striptease (1996); and Forrest Gump (1994). In addition, Fallon has appeared 20 times on Saturday Night Live.

The Secret Friend is the result of a remarkable collaborative effort from our outstanding Crew, whose work behind the scenes has made this film possible. With both pre-production and principal photography successfully behind us, we are currently working to complete post-production in time for the start of festival season in the fall of this year. It is our goal to be featured at all of the major festivals including Sundance, Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, Venice and more.

As part of our on going post production efforts we are actively seeking funding from all interested parties. Post production costs, including post house work, editing, festival entry and promotions will exceed our current budget and in order to give this film the proper attention and care it deserves, additional funding is necessary. It is our sincere hope that with your help and support, together we can allow this film to reach its fullest potential.

Any contribution, large or small, would be a step towards the successful completion of this wonderful project. All investors will receive a credit in the film and larger investors will have the opportunity to appear on all promotional material, DVDs and the web site as well as receive investment opportunities for the feature film version of the story, currently in development.
